All In One

With their colorful and lively sound, you might guess that the Calico Winds take their name from splendid and intricate patches of calico fabric. The Los Angeles-based wind quintet’s ALL IN ONE features a chimeric catalog that draws from old and new alike, paying tribute to both vanguards of classical and cutting-edge contemporaries. Works by Bach, Carter, Nielsen, Schifrin, and Zappa come together in an energetic menagerie of time and style, blurring the lines between genres with prismatic tone colors and whip-crack precision.

Calico Winds plays “in perfect balance with each other, each [member] contributing lovely tone quality and flawless intonation…”
The Times Herald, Olean, NY
